Orbshot has not shipped its first release. This page is where it will be, and the account page already works if you have a licence to attach.
Requirements
macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. It lives in the menu bar and puts no icon in the Dock.
What it asks for on first launch
A checklist of every permission it can use, with what each is for and which are optional — all of them except Screen Recording. Skip one and the app carries on; when something later needs it, the same window opens with that permission at the top and a line saying what was blocked.
Why it is not on the Mac App Store
Because the sandbox the App Store requires would take away the parts that make it useful. Global shortcuts need Carbon's hotkey API. Keystroke badges and click ripples need the input event track. Capturing a window that is behind another one, at the display's real scale, and writing the file where you asked for it — none of that survives the sandbox. So it is sold from here, and signed and notarised so macOS is happy about it.
